sometimes it’s you
a sometimes it’s you,
sometimes it’s the horizon.
a vanishing sunset
fills your soul with endless shadows,
gray clouds bring the evening storms,
sound of thunder echoes in the distance;
sometimes it’s you,
sometimes it’s the horizon.
i no longer pretend to understand our universe,
nor find the coordinates of your inner self,
not even draw you in my thoughts
and believe in the memories i once trusted,
sometimes it’s me
sometimes it’s the horizon,
sometimes the balance gets ripped away
and worn to shreds.
i no longer intend to avoid the parting,
nor understand my saddened heart,
fatigue has taken me by surprise,
words and explanations have run their course.
sometimes it’s you
sometimes it’s the horizon.
i no longer pretend to be right,
or to be wrong,
the weight on my shoulders is unbearable,
i have run out of air,
i have run out of joy.
sometimes my compass cannot find its true north,
the uncertainty has left me without strength,
without any guidance,
all the questions seem to wind down
when there are too many answers
waiting to be chosen.
sometimes it is me
sometimes it’s the horizon.
sometimes is better
to avoid looking at yourself in the mirror
and imagine,
that in the silence of the night
the moon will faintly glow
bringing to light
the hope that was once misplaced.
