a hidden blush of hope
i paused briefly while passing by your side
and a dim light invaded my shadow.
a hesitant glow entered my airtight orbit.
a clean aura, gathering sun rays,
left your smile scattered in the thin air.
and my shadow went missing
while searching for you,
like a child pursuing
– snatched by an august wind –
a runaway kite.
a hazy light swiftly flickers
when your eyes gaze at me,
the stillness of a summer morning,
a sun appearing slowly over the mountains,
sparse clouds suspended under a deep blue sky,
leaving me longing for your body,
lying motionless over my sleeping bag.
a delicate glare disrupted me as you glanced back,
one last time, over the hazy meadow,
giving me a hidden blush of hope
that has kept me glancing wishfully,
while i await my shadow’s return,
from the alternate universe
where our paths will,
again,
come together.
