Welcome to the english mini-site of the poet hugo cuevas-mohr. From here you can view his biography and get a short summary in english of his published books, cds and poetry videos. Some of the CDs have poems set to music in collaboration with different composers - either his own poems and poems by latinamerican and spanish poets - as well as audio versions of his poetry books.
If you go to the catalog you can listen to his poems in spanish, read by the author, while you follow the text. We also have some translations in english of some of his poemas, work that was done by american writer Elizabeth Uhlig. You can view the texts in english and spanish while listening to the poet read the poems in english following the link next to the poem.
Translating spanish poetry into english is not an easy task and we kindly accept your thoughts and insights, including your own translations, ideas, etc. There are english versions done as an aide to help you understand the poem in spanish.
